A clash broke out between two factions of the Sir Salimullah Medical College unit of Chhatra League on Tuesday over establishing dominance.
The skirmish between the supporters of the unit’s president, Majnu, and general secretary, Maidul, started at around 7pm on Tuesday.
Both groups committed acts of vandalism at the time.
Soon after, police arrived at the spot and brought the situation under control, said Kotwali police station OC Mizanur Rahman.
Additional forces had been deployed on the campus to prevent further untoward incidents, he added.
