A mobile court in a drive on Wednesday fined a businessman Tk150,000 for stocking excessive paddy in Singra upazila of Natore district.
District Directorate General of Food conducted the drive around 1:30pm at Kalom Bazar area with the help of district administration.
Executive Magistrate Md AL Imran led the mobile court, that fined Nirendranath Mani, owner of M/S N Mani and Brothers, for illegally stocking around 1,000 tonnes of paddy in three godowns.
District Food Controller Harun-Ur-Rashid was present during the time.
