Police on Sunday recovered the body of an Indian national along the border in Aditmari Upazila of Lalmonirhat.
The deceased could not be identified immediately, said Officer-in-Charge Moktarul Islam of Aditmari police station.
Police were informed by locals when they saw the body lying on the Bangladesh side of sub-pillar No 11 of main pillar No 924 along Durgapur border. Later, an inquest report was made on the spot, he said.
Meanwhile, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) 15 Battalion Commanding Officer Lt Col SM Touhidul Alam said they had held a flag meeting with the in-charge of Padma Camp of Border Security Force (BSF) around 3pm.
“They will inform us, if they can identify the body,” he added.
After the meeting, the body was sent to Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
