Unidentified miscreants have killed an elderly man after he came out of a mosque in Goalanda of Rajbari.
Deceased Khalil Uddin Sheikh, 60, was a farmer from Bhagalpur village. He also worked as a cook in the area.
Khalil was attacked outside the village mosque near Anjuman-e-Kaderia Khankah Sharif (shrine) after he completed his Isha prayers.
“They first hacked him with sharp weapons and then slit his throat,” said his son-in-law Farhad Hossain.
Goalanda police station Officer-in-Charge Swapan Kumar Majumder said that a team of high officials of the district police visited the spot.
“We are trying to identify the killers,” he added.
Farhad Hossain claimed that Khalil had no enmity with anyone in the area.
