The closure of in-person classes at the University of Dhaka has been extended till February 21.
Exams and lab sessions, however, will continue in line with the health safety rules, Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr M Akhtaruzzaman said on Saturday.
"Following the government's decision, we have extended the closure of in-person classes by two weeks. But the crucial exams and laboratory activities will continue adhering to the health rules,” he told the media.
The official announcement will be made on Sunday, according to the VC.
On January 21, the university authorities suspended its in-person classes till February 6, when the education ministry shut down schools and colleges for two week amid rising coronavirus cases.
The ministry later extended the shutdown by two weeks till Feb 21.
