A total of 620 more people tested positive for Covid-19 in seven districts of Rajshahi division on Saturday, taking the caseload to 65,561.
With 10 more fatalities from the disease reported on the day, the death toll reached 1,030, including 458 in Bogra, 189 in Rajshahi with 103 in the city and 121 in Chapainawabganj, said Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder, director of the divisional health office.
The new daily infection figure shows a declining trend compared to the previous day's figure of 1,246, the office sources said.
Among the infected people, 44,903 have so far recovered from the lethal disease with 472 new recoveries reported during the 24 hours to Saturday morning.
A total of 8,165 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at different designated hospitals in the division.
Besides, all the positive cases for Covid-19 have so far been brought under necessary treatment while 14,869 were kept in isolation units of different hospitals for institutional supervision. Of them, 10,023 have been released.

On the other hand, 115 more people have been sent to home and institutional quarantine afresh while 297 others were released from isolation during the 24 hours till 8am Saturday.
Of the total new positive cases, the highest 204 were detected in Pabna, followed by 125 in Rajshahi, including 120 in its city, 121 in Sirajganj, 97 in Bogra, 51 in Naogaon, 20 in Chapainawabganj and two in Natore districts.
With the newly detected patients, the district-wise break-up of the total cases now stands at 19,774 in Rajshahi, including 15,878 in its city, 4,483 in Chapainawabganj, 5,126 in Naogaon, 4,893 in Natore, 3,792 in Joypurhat, 15,524 in Bogra, 5,422 in Sirajganj and 6,547 in Pabna.
A total of 90,616 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine since March 10 last year to prevent the community transmission of coronavirus.
Of them, 80,505 have, by now, been released as they were given clearance certificates after completing their respective 14-day quarantine period.
Meanwhile, the surge in Covid-19 cases has been continuing in all eight districts of the division since the very beginning of the second wave making the division a hotspot of the deadly virus.
