Md Mahbub Hossain, secretary of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), has been diagnosed with Covid-19.
Mohammad Abul Khayer, information officer at the Ministry of Education, confirmed the matter on Thursday.

Mahbub Hossain tested positive for the virus on Wednesday night. Since then, he has been receiving treatment in isolation at his residence in Dhaka, said Abul Khayer.
The DSHE secretary had revealed to Dhaka Tribune on Wednesday that he was sick.
However, the exact nature of his sickness did not become clear until Abul Khayer confirmed it on Thursday.
Coronavirus has so far infected 374,592 people and claimed 5,460 lives in Bangladesh.
