Bijoy called off the strike on Sunday night and everything turned back to normal as shuttle train service and classes will start again from today.
On Sunday, a clash between two groups- CFC (Choose Friends with Care) and Bijoy - of Chittagong University (CU) unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League took place on the CU campus at around 2 pm over establishing supremacy, following the previous days clash.
Police arrested two activists of Bijoy group from the spot, but the police didn’t disclose any further details of the two, detainees, our correspondent reported. Supporters of the two groups are now blaming each other for the consequences.
Meanwhile, one of the two fighting groups, ’Bijoy’, called an indefinite strike at CU campus on Saturday, demanding the resignation of Rezaul Haque Rubel, president of CU unit BCL and also the leader of ’CFC ’group.
Most of the departments of CU suspended their classes and exams on Sunday due to this incident.
