A girl with mental disability has been gang-raped in Devipur of Shahrasti upazila, Chandpur.
The accused, Fahim, 21, a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver, and Jihad, 19, kidnapped and raped the girl on Saturday.
According to locals, the accused allegedly kidnapped the girl when she was picking mangoes from her backyard early in the morning. They took the girl to a farmhouse at Amujan of Kochua Upazila, and gang-raped her.
When some locals found the girl crying in the farmhouse, they caught the alleged rapists, and beat them up before handing them over to police.
One of the accused, Jihad, confessed after their arrest that, it was Fahim the CNG driver who planned the kidnapping, and rape.
Speaking to Dhaka Tribune, The mother of the girl said: "We were searching for my daughter, and we heard she was kidnapped and raped by the culprits. We filed a case against them."
Officer-in-Charge of Shahrasti police station, Shah Alam said: "The mother of the girl filed a case against Fahim and Jihad. We arrested them and sent them to the court. We sent the victim to Chandpur Sadar Hospital for necessary check-ups."
