3 minor girls drown in Meghna

Three minor girls drowned while taking bath in the Meghna River at Ibrahimpur village of Sadar upazila in Chandpur on Sunday. The deceased were identified as Fatema Akhter, 6, Mariam, 6, and Marzia, 7, of the same village. Local Union Parishad member Mannan Gazi said several children of the village went to the river at noon for taking bath. However, three of them went missing. Later, their floating bodies were retrieved from the river, he said.
