Case filed against 800 over Sylhet clash

A case has been filed against some 800 people in connection with a clash that killed two people, including a local Sramik League leader, at Baroikandi of Sylhet district. Deceased Sramik League leader's brother Sebul Ahmed filed the case with south Surma police station on Thursday. He named 109 people in the case. Vice President of Sramik League's sadar upazila unit Masuk Ahmed, 50, was killed in the clash on Tuesday. The key accused is Abdul Wadud Alfu Miah, chairman of Telikhal union parishad in Companiganj upazila. Police arrested a man, Shahjahan, over the clash, said Officer-in-Charge of south Surma police station Khairul Fazal. Earlier on March 6, a clash broke out between two groups of people at Baroikandi over a trivial matter that left two people, including Masuk and his cousin Babul Mia, dead on the spot. Some 20 others were also injured in the clash.
