AL factional clash leaves one dead in Kushtia

At least 10 others were injured in the clash on Friday morning. They were admitted to Kushtia General Hospital and local clinics. Deceased Idris Ali is the son of late Gafur Member. According to police and locals, Jiarokhi union AL General Secretary Abdul Kader and ward unit AL President Afzal Hossain had a longstanding dispute over dominance in the area. Following the dispute, the followers of Kader and Afzal violently clashed on Friday morning, leaving Afzal’s supporter Idris dead on the spot. Confirming the death, Kushtia model police station Officer-in-Charge Robiul Islam said that the police were on alert to avert further untoward situations in the area.
