Ad-din Hospital to seek review of licence cancellation decision

The authorities of Ad-din Hospital have announced that they will seek a review of the Directorate General of Health Services' (DGHS) decision to cancel the licence of its Moghbazar branch following the deaths of six newborns.

The matter was confirmed by Ad-din Hospital Director Md Tarikul Islam Mukul at a press conference held at the hospital in Moghbazar on Friday afternoon.

Speaking at the briefing, Mukul said: "We will fully comply with the decision taken by the DGHS regarding Ad-din Hospital's Moghbazar branch. At the same time, we are ensuring and will continue to ensure that no patients suffer any harm as a result of this decision."

Hospital authorities stated that they would submit an application within the stipulated timeframe, requesting the government to reconsider its decision.

"We hope the government will take public interest into account and allow us to continue the hospital's normal operations for the benefit of the people," they said.

Mukul also stated that the ward where the six newborns died has already been closed.

"We are committed to completing all renovation and improvement work in that ward within the next three months," he said.

The Ad-din authorities further said they are working to ensure that patients who have been instructed to transfer to other facilities do not face any difficulties or adverse consequences.

"We have always stood by our patients, and we continue to do so," they added.
