The health authorities have reported 268 coronavirus infections on Saturday, taking the overall caseload to 1,946,737 in the country.
Total fatality rose by 13 to stand at 29,077, according to figures released by the Directorate General of Health Services.
In the 24 hours to 8am, a total of 17,463 samples were tested across Bangladesh for an infection rate of 2.11%, down from 3.2% the previous day.
Nationwide another 4,018 people recovered from the disease, taking the total recovery to 1,839,998.
With the latest figures, the overall mortality rate stands at 1.49% while the recovery rate at 94.52%.
On Friday, Bangladesh recorded six deaths and 604 Covid-19 infections.
Of the deaths, eight were reported in Dhaka division, two in Barisal, one each in Chittagong, Mymensingh and Rangpur division.
Of them, seven were male and the rest female.
On January 28, Bangladesh logged its earlier highest daily positivity rate at 33.37% reporting 15,440 cases and 20 deaths.
On December 9 last year, Bangladesh again logged zero Covid-related death after nearly three weeks as the pandemic was apparently showing signs of easing.
The country reported the first zero death from the coronavirus in a single day on November 20 last year along with 178 infections since the pandemic broke out in Bangladesh in March 2020.
Besides, the country registered the highest daily caseload of 16,230 on July 28 last year, while the highest number of daily fatalities was 264 on August 10 last year.
