Bangladesh reported zero deaths from Covid-19 for the third consecutive day on Thursday.
The positivity rate was recorded at 1.69% with 233 new infections from 14,152 samples tested across the country, according to a bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Dhaka remained at the top with the highest number of new cases -- 161 -- while no new cases were reported from 38 districts in the 24 hours till 8am.
On Wednesday, the country recorded 188 Covid cases with zero deaths.
The latest additions took the country's total caseload to 1,950,357 while the death toll remains static at 29,112.
A total of 1,561 people recovered from Covid during the same period taking the total recovery to 1,867,161.
On December 9 last year, Bangladesh logged zero Covid-related deaths after nearly three weeks as the pandemic was apparently showing signs of easing.
The country reported the first zero death from the coronavirus in a single day on November 20 last year along with 178 infections since the pandemic broke out in Bangladesh in March 2020.
Besides, the country registered the highest daily caseload of 16,230 on July 28 last year, while the highest number of daily fatalities was 264 on August 10 last year.
