With no let-up in coronavirus fatalities in sight, Bangladesh registered another 16 deaths in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning, bringing the tally to 5,593.
The latest single-day body count is the lowest in any given day since May 28 when the figure stood at 15.
The country also logged a total of 382,959 coronavirus cases, with 1,684 people testing positive over the 24-hour span, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in a press release on Wednesday.
Death toll on any given day went past 15 for the first time on April 17 and since May 28, the figure never dropped below that until Wednesday's updated figures.
The country's highest death toll from Covid-19 was 64, which was recorded on June 30.
Of the 16 latest deceased – 13 men and 3 women – 10 were from Dhaka division, three from Khulna, two from Chittagong, and one from Rajshahi division.
Among the victims, 15 died at different hospitals and one at home.
So far, 4,305 men (76.97%) and 1,288 women (23.03%) have died from Covid-19 across the country.
Mortality rate at 1.46%
Since the beginning, 2,854 have died in Dhaka division, 1,124 in Chittagong, 360 in Rajshahi, 452 in Khulna, 193 in Barisal, 238 in Sylhet, 254 in Rangpur, and 118 in Mymensingh.
The mortality rate against the total number of cases detected so far stands at 1.46%.
The health authorities said 1,576 people recovered from the disease over the preceding 24 hours.
So far, 297,449 patients — 77.67% of all infected — have made full recovery across the country.

The DGHS said 14,169 samples were collected from suspected Covid-19 patients in the last 24 hours.
As many as 14,411 samples, including the pending ones, were tested in the 109 authorized labs -- government and private -- across the country.
The latest figures show an infection rate of 11.69%.
To date, 2,112,448 tests have been conducted in the country, leading to an overall infection rate of 18.13% so far.
Currently, as many as 12,427 people are in isolation and 40,100 are quarantined.
Ctg body count hits 300-mark
As of Wednesday, a total of 301 patients died in Chittagong.
Of them, 208 people are from the city, while the remaining are from different upazilas within the district.
The total mortality rate so far stands at 1.51%, with test positivity rate amounting to 17.07%.
So far, 115,991 samples have been tested, while 19,809 people have been diagnosed with the infectious disease in Chittagong.
Of them, 14,352 people are from the city while the remaining 5,457 people are from different upazilas of Chittagong.
In Chittagong, where the first Covid-19 case was reported on April 3, the body count crossed the 100-mark on June 9 and the 200-mark on July 7.
As of October 14, 15,638 people have recovered from the deadly disease in the port city.
On March 8, health authorities in Bangladesh reported the first three cases of Covid-19, a severe acute respiratory illness caused by a new coronavirus strain which was later named Sars-CoV-2.
The novel coronavirus broke out in China's Wuhan city in late December last year and quickly spread throughout the world, becoming a pandemic in less than three months.
The fast spreading coronavirus has claimed 1,091,759 lives and infected 38,426,539 people across the world till Wednesday afternoon, according to Worldometer.
As many as 28,883,947 people have recovered from Covid-19 which has spread to 213 countries and territories across the planet.
