A doctor of Comilla Medical College Hospital (CMCH) has died of the Covid-19 infection while undergoing treatment at the Square Hospital of Dhaka.
The deceased, Dr Md Obaidur Rahman, assistant professor of Nephrology department at the hospital breathed his last at around 12 pm on Thursday.
Dr Obaidur was 56 years old at the time of his death and left behind many admirers, said Dr Md Mujibur Rahman, director of CMCH.
Dr Md Obaidur Rahman was in isolation in his house in Brahmanbaria where he was diagnosed with the virus that later took his life, added the doctor.
As of Thursday, at least 88 doctors have succumbed to the deadly Covid-19 infection according to the Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA).
