Bangladesh has confirmed seven more people died of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, taking the number of deaths to 127 in the country.
Besides, 414 more people tested positive for Covid-19 over the same period, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 4,186.
Health Minister Zahid Maleque disclosed the latest figures of deaths and infections in a daily online bulletin on coronavirus situation in Dhaka Thursday afternoon.
“The government has made no special arrangement for the VIPs,” said the minister.
On Monday, the death toll from Covid-19, a disease caused by a new strain of coronavirus, crossed the 100 mark in Bangladesh.
On April 17, the country recorded the highest deaths with 15 more fatalities from the pandemic announced by the World Health Organization (WHO), since the country declared its first death on March 18.
Meanwhile, sixteen patients were released in the last 24 hours. A total of 108 individuals have recovered from the disease so far since Bangladesh recorded its first Covid-19 case on March 8.
The fast spreading coronavirus, which was first reported in China’s Wuhan, has claimed more than184,230 lives and infected more than 2,638,000 people globally, according to Worldometer.
As many as 721,734 people have recovered from Covid-19, which has spread to 210 countries and territories across the planet.
