Awami League President Sheikh Hasina on Monday has been sworn for the fourth time as prime minister of the Government of Bangladesh.
She will be serving as the 11th prime minister; her third consecutive term.
With the oath taking of new ministers, state ministers and deputy ministers, the country gets an Awami League-exclusive cabinet after 1973.
Sheikh Hasina served as prime minister from 1996 to 2001; second term from 2009 to 2014; and the third from 2014 to 2019.
She became the prime minister for the first time on June 23, 1996 when her party Bangladesh Awami League acquired majority in the general election held on June 12, 1996.
Her party earned a decisive victory with a two-third majority in the widely acclaimed free and fair election leading her taking over the office of the prime minister for the second time on January 6, 2009, as well as in 2014.
The Awami League-led Grand Alliance secured victory in the 11th general election held on December 30 last year, leading the Awami League chief to serve as head of government for the fourth time.
