Lawmaker and noted singer Momtaj Begum, film stars Riaz, Ferdous and Shakil Khan, actors Zahid Hasan, Aruna Biswas and Shomi Kaiser, and renowned dance artiste Sadia Islam Mou are hopeful of taking part in the upcoming election campaign in favour of Awami League, Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud said.
Talking to reporters at the Awami League president’s political office in the city’s Dhanmondi area on Tuesday, after a meeting of Awami League publicity subcommittee, he said the celebrities would join the polls campaign from next week, reports BSS.
“We will carry out the campaign in favour of ‘boat’, the electoral symbol of Awami League, to move Bangladesh forward under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. We are walking on the path of development, which has been revealed by our prime minister,” said actor Ferdous.
Zahid Hasan said: “We are with boat, and we will remain with boat in the future.”
Riaz urged the new generation to stay beside the Awami League and vote for boat in the upcoming national election.
