Canadian University of Bangladesh student receives Japanese MEXT scholarship

A student from Canadian University of Bangladesh becomes one of the 138 other students from Bangladesh who received the MEXT scholarship in Japan this year. 

The scholarship recipient is Md Rahatul Islam, a student of Canadian University of Bangladesh's EEE Department.

He received a 2-year MSc in Human Intelligence Systems Engineering from the Graduate School of Life Science and Systems Engineering at Kyushu Institute of Technology. The course will be from October 2022 to September 2024, reads a press release. 

MEXT is one of the prestigious scholarships for studying in Japan. It is actually MECSST. 

The term stands for Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. The abbreviation is 'MEXT'.

MEXT covers all costs including tuition fees as well as for visa processing.

Rahatul also got the Sarafat Chowdhury Merit Scholarship in 2019 while being enrolled at Canadian University of Bangladesh.

He established the Robotics Club and served as its first president.

He has also served as a trainer for the RoboTech Leadership Program and arranged a number of workshops for the EEE department.
