The government has set June 19 for starting this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations.
A notice published on Wednesday by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education said the theoretical examinations will start on June 19 and end on July 6.
The practical examinations are scheduled to be completed between July 13 and July 19.
The schedule, signed by Prof SM Amirul Islam, controller of examination at the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, was published on the board’s website.
According to the notice, candidates must take their seats at the examination halls 30 minutes before the exam begins.
The time given for multiple-choice questions (MCQs) will be 20 minutes and the theoretical examinations will be held for 100 minutes, and there will be no break in between.
The SSC candidates have been requested to collect their admit cards from their schools three days prior to the start of exams.
On February 18, Education Minister Dipu Moni at a press conference said this year’s SSC and the HSC examinations would be held on curtailed syllabuses.
Last year, the SSC and HSC exams were held in November and December, respectively.
Usually, the SSC and equivalent exams are held in February and HSC in April.
The government postponed the exams due to a rise in Covid-19 infections at the time.
The exams were held on group subjects with reduced marks to shorten the duration of the tests.
