Buet suspends in-person postgraduate classes from Saturday

Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) has shifted postgraduate in-person classes to online classes from Saturday due to the increasing number of students infected with Covid-19.

Buet Vice-Chancellor Dr Satya Prasad Majumdar confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Thursday.

He said: “A number of students were infected with Covid-19 in post and under graduate level. Even I’m also infected with Covid-19.”

He noted many of the students have expressed interest in participating in online classes.

“So, considering all the issues, it has been decided to start online classes from Saturday. And the classes will continue till further notice, said Majumdar.

Undergraduate classes are now closed as the exams ended a few days ago. A meeting is set to be held after Eid-ul-Azha for deciding when the classes will start.
