Police recovered the bodies of five people, including a woman, from separate locations in the capital on Monday. None of the deceased could be identified.
The bodies were taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsies.
A 45-year-old unidentified man was found dead beside a road near Araf Car Wash in the Shanir Akhra U-turn area of Jatrabari.
In Motijheel, an unidentified man, around 50, was found lying unconscious on the road opposite Notre Dame College. A pharmaceutical company representative, Nasir, found him and took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Monday morning. He died at around 11am while undergoing treatment.
Nasir said he believed the man had died from illness and lack of food.
Meanwhile, an unidentified woman, around 30, was found in an ailing condition near Dhaka Medical College Hospital under Shahbagh police station. Hospital staff rescued her and admitted her on Monday morning. She died at around 11:15am while undergoing treatment, said acting ward master Ayub Ali.
In Kamrangirchar, police recovered the body of an unidentified 65-year-old man from the Jauyahati area on Monday morning, said SI Praneshwar Das, duty officer of the police station.
Locals said the man frequently roamed the area and was known to them, but they did not know his identity. He was believed to be a vagrant.
Separately, Shahbagh police recovered the body of an unidentified man, around 30, from a roadside pavement near the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. SI Bijoy Mondal recovered the body, which was later taken to the DMCH morgue.
Police suspected that the man was also a vagrant.
