After a one-day break following the Eid-ul-Azha holidays, metro rail services resumed on Sunday.
Trains have been running every 30 minutes from 8am, following the current headway schedule, reports Bangla Tribune.
However, starting Monday, the metro rail will operate according to the public holiday timetable.
Meanwhile, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has issued new restrictions for metro rail passengers.
In a notice signed by the company’s Director (Administration) AKM Khairul Alam, on Tuesday, it was announced that transporting sacrificial animal hides, as well as raw or cooked meat, is strictly prohibited on the metro rail.
The notice also stated that passengers will be searched at the entrance of each metro station.
If anyone is found carrying raw or cooked meat, they will not be allowed to enter the station, it said.
Security personnel have been instructed to strictly enforce these guidelines, it added.
