A university student reportedly committed suicide by jumping off a building’s fourth floor in the capital’s Sukrabad area on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Md Akash, 24, a student of Daffodil International University, said his friend Pankaj.
“All of us including Akash were awake till 3:30am on Wednesday. After waking up, we heard Akash’s body was found in front of the building,” he added.
A smell coming from Akash's mouth suggests he might have ingested toilet cleaner and jumped off the building, but none of his friends could confirm the reason behind the suspected suicide.
The body has been Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s (DMCH) morgue for autopsy, said Md Bacchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost.
