An autorickshaw driver has been killed after a bus hit his vehicle in Dhaka's Nilkhet area
The deceased was identified as Golam Mostafa, 45, a resident of Rampura area.
After the accident, locals rushed Golam to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where on-duty doctors declared him dead around 7:45am on Wednesday.
Confirming the matter, DMCH police outpost In-Charge, Inspector Bachchu Mia, said the body has been sent to the morgue for autopsy and his family was informed.
Police have seized the bus and arrested the bus driver, Md Jalal Mia, from DMCH, he added.
Md Jalal said on his way to Azimpur, the Thikana Paribahan bus, he was driving, collided with the auto-rickshaw as they were crossing the Nilkhet intersection, causing the auto-rickshaw to flip.
Later, he parked the bus and came to the hospital to check on the auto-rickshaw driver, Jalal added.
