A flower girl, who used to live at TSC area on Dhaka University campus with her mother under the open sky, has been rescued by police after seven days.
The nine-year-old girl, Zinia, was rescued at around 1am on Tuesday from a house of Amtola area of Narayanganj, said DB Police Additional Deputy Commissioner (Ramna) Mishu Biswas.
Police have also arrested the woman who abducted the little girl.
“The woman lured the girl with the promise of giving her beautiful dresses, food, and residence. The girl was told that she was being taken for a walk,” said ADC Mishu.
The woman is a drug-addict, added the ADC.
According to Zinia’s mother, the little girl was having street food with two other women.
At one point, one of the women asked Zinia to come with her for a walk. Later on, they took the girl away with them.
Soon after the girl’s disappearance, people on social media started demanding that she be rescued immediately.
Zinia’s elder sister also went missing for 11 years but was later found eventually.
