Telenor Youth Forum (TYF) has selected Myat Moe Khaing and Rakib Rahman Shawon students of IBA and Dhaka University, respectively, at the TYF Grand Finale.
The event was held at the Grameenphone House in Bashundhara on Sunday.
TYF winners will join its global event in Oslo, Norway in December – during the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony.
TYF, in partnership with the Nobel Peace Center, offers an opportunity for young people, aged from 18 to 28, from 13 countries where Telenor has operations, to present innovative ideas that can bring social change. The theme for the event is “Digitalisation for Peace.”
Each year two individuals are selected to represent Bangladesh at the TYF global event. This year’s winning ideas are “Mukti” (Liberation) and “Make Them Strong.” The selection round was organised by Grameenphone. Over 1400 candidates applied to participate in the program.
The event was attended by university faculty members, local entrepreneurs from established startups, journalists, government officials, digital and social media experts, and students from different universities.
Minister of Education Nurul Islam Nahid was the chief guest at the event. The Norwegian Ambassador to Bangladesh Sidsel Bleken was present as a special guest. The CEO of Grameenphone Michael Foley and other GP officials were also present during the event.
