HC upholds Lalbagh seven-murder verdict

The High Court has upheld the the lower court verdict that had imposed death penalty for two, life sentence for nine and acquittal for eight accused in the sensational Lalbagh seven murder case.

The HC bench of Justice Kamrul Islam Siddiki and Justice AKM Jahirul Haque delivered the verdict on Thursday afternoon.

On, May 7, 2008, the lower court delivered the verdict after 14 years of the case filing.

On Jan 30, 1994, a day after city corporation elections, the defeated group attacked a rally of winners in Lalbagh area and gunned down seven people.
