Journalist Nadim murder: Another accused arrested

Police have arrested another accused from Jamalpur in a case filed over the murder of Journalist Nadim.

The arrestee is Md Andolon Sarker, 55, son of late Ali Sarker, resident of Uttar Dhatuakanda village of Bokhshiganj upazila.

He had direct involvement in the killing mission, said Sohel Rana, officer-in-charge of Bokhshiganj police station, confirming the matter.

Andolon was arrested early Wednesday following the statement of Noyon Miah, who was arrested early Monday.

Nadim, who had been seriously injured in an attack allegedly by some supporters of Babu in the Pathati area of Bokshiganj upazila on June 14, died at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital the next day.

He was the Jamalpur correspondent for Banglanews24.com and a Bokshiganj upazila correspondent for Ekattor Television. He was also a member of the Jamalpur Press Club.

A case was lodged against 47 people naming now-suspended Sadhurpara union parishad (UP) chairman Mahmudul Alam Babu as the key accused in connection with Nadim's murder.
