An elderly woman has been killed allegedly by her husband at their house in Arambagh area of Dhaka's Motijheel.
The police recovered the body from the house on Tuesday morning.
The victim, Chhabi Kuri, 60, had been paralyzed partially for 12-13 years, while her husband Gopal Kuri, 73, has been suffering from depression for two years and was on medication, police said.
Senior Assistant Commissioner Jahidul Islam Shohag of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) (Motijheel zone) said they found the victim lying on the bed and the body bore stab injuries on the skull.
A knife was also recovered from near the body, he said.
Gopal Kuri was found lying unconscious on the floor, Jahidul said.
He was sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) for treatment under police custody, he added.
Police suspect the husband might have killed his wife out of depression, he added.
