Security forces on Sunday detained 99 people, including a police constable, in separate anti-narcotics drives conducted in three districts.
So far, more than 130 people, mostly suspected drug dealers, have been killed and over 13,000 others detained since the government launched an aggressive anti-narcotics crackdown in May.
In Dhaka, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained 35 people allegedly involved with drug peddling, from Mohammadpur, Hazaribagh, Adabor and Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
The elite law enforcement agency also recovered 152 yaba pills, 1kg cannabis and 25 small packets of heroin and seized eight mobile phones and Tk24,035 from the detainees, according to RAB sources.
In Naogaon, police detained 63 people during a daylong drive in 11 upazilas.
The detainees are accused in drug-related cases, said Iqbal Hossain, superintendent of police in the district.
In Mymensingh, the Detective Branch of police detained a police constable, Al Amin, for his alleged involvement with yaba trade. The constable was posted at the Mymensingh Sadar Court.
Detective police Officer-in-Charge Md Ashiqur Rahman said on Friday night a police source, Abdul Mottaleb, was arrested with 12,000 yaba tablets. In interrogation, Mottaleb revealed that Al Amin had sold the drugs to him.
Jhenaidah, 35 people were held, among whom two were drug dealers. Police Superintendent Mizanur Rahman said they were arrested from Shailakupa, Harinakundu, Kaliganj, Kotchadpur and Maheshpur.
In Nilphamari, a woman was arrested in connection with drug dealing in Syedpur.
In Jhalakathi, an employee of the municipality was arrested with 15 yaba tablets on their person.
In Tangail, police detained 17 people. Yaba, heroin and marijuana were recovered from them.
