A Gaibandha court sent former MP from the Gaibandha-2 constituency, Mahbub Ara Begum Gini, to jail after rejecting her bail petition.
Gaibandha’s Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Md Abdul Matin, passed the order after hearing a petition for a 10-day remand.
Rejecting both the remand and bail petitions, the court sent the former lawmaker to jail in connection with a case filed over vandalism and arson at the BNP party office.
Earlier, on September 30, DB police arrested her from a residence in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi area.
