Law Minister Anisul Huq on Monday said president’s decision over issuing a gazette notification over the disciplinary and conduct rules for lower court judges has been sent to the Supreme Court.
“It’s completely under the jurisdiction of the president to take the decision. We’ve sent the copy of president’s decision to the Supreme Court,” said Anisul while talking to reporters at the Secretariat.
On Sunday, the president decided that there was no need for issuing any gazette notification on the drafts of the disciplinary and conduct rules for judicial officers and Bangladesh judicial service rules.
The Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry issued a circular in this regard.
Following the notification, the Supreme Court on Monday ordered the authorities concerned to issue a gazette notification on the disciplinary and conduct rules for lower court judges by January 15.
Replying to a question about relocating International Crimes Tribunal (ICT), the law minister said: “We’ve sent a letter to the Supreme Court for reconsidering the decision to relocate ICT but recently SC sent another letter to the ministry in this regard. We’ll send another letter for reconsidering its previous decision.”
