JU admission tests to begin on January 10

Jahangirnagar University (JU) will hold admission tests for first-year undergraduate programs for the 2026-27 academic session from January 10 to 21, 2027, with examinations scheduled on all days except Fridays and Saturdays.

Syed Mohammad Ali Reza, deputy registrar of the university’s Education Branch, confirmed the schedule to Dhaka Tribune on Wednesday.

“Our first meeting on admission-related matters was held today (Wednesday), and several decisions were made regarding the admission tests,” he said.

The examinations will be held on the university campus, as plans to conduct tests in divisional cities will not be implemented this year, Reza said.

No final decision has been made on admission test fees, although the issue was discussed at the meeting. The university has also yet to complete its review of the admission test results, with final decisions on these matters likely to be made at the next meeting, he added.

The unit structure will remain unchanged from last year. However, according to the meeting’s decisions, the Law Department will come under the Faculty of Social Sciences for this year’s admission tests.
