BDR carnage convict granted bail

The High Court has given bail to a convict in the sensational BDR carnage case.

The convict, Sarwar Hossain, who was sentenced to jail for three years, obtained the bail for one year.

The HC bench of Justice, Md Rezaul Haque and Justice, Gobinda Chandra Tagore granted the bail on Wednesday.

Sarwar’s lawyer, Shameem Sardar said the Ansaar man was the first convict who got bail in the BDR carnage case.

The High Court gave him bail after admitting his appeal against the sentence for hearing.

Shameem said before the punishment pronounced on November 5, Sarwar was also in bail.

He said though his client was not present in the place of carnage, he was punished as he kept a mobile phone of slain Major Saleh.

He also mentioned about, Towhid, the then BDR man, who gave the mobile to Sarwar and was acquitted for which the High Court granted his client bail.
