Since Akshay Kumar’s last release “Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Dobara” failed at Box Office all eyes are on action thriller “Boss.”
In “Boss,” the 46-year-old actor plays a Haryanavi gangster with veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty playing the role of his father.
The film also stars Aditi Rao Hydari, Shiv Pandit of “FIR” fame and Ronit Roy in lead roles.
In Akshay’s own words “Boss” had the toughest action sequences that the action genre maestro had to handle.
“It is the best action movie as it has no computer graphic action. It is much raw, man to man, real action. Also, the climax is very different from the rest of the movies.”
“In the climax, I do not come with an army of people to fight Ronit in the end. Nor he has an army to deal with me. It is a fight between me and him, man to man,” he added.
The film’s music is also well appreciated, with the special club track – “Party All Night” – already a favourite among Honey Singh’s fans.
The other number is a rendition of classic song “Har Kissi Ko Nahin Milta.” Both songs feature Akshay’s “Rowdy Rathor” co-star Sonakshi Sinha.
Akshay Kumar also seems to have learnt from his mistakes as the actor has left stone unturned to promote the film. “Boss” has scored well in single screens, according to film analyst Taran Adarsh.
Early estimates suggested that the Anthony D’Souza’s latest directorial venture averaged around Rs 15 crore on Wednesday.
Boss had a midweek release, aiming to cash-in on the Eid holiday. The film opened to 75%-80% occupancy across all nationwide territories. Not just the masses but even the multiplex audiences have been flocking the theaters.
Ajit Andhare (COO, Viacom 18 Motion Pictures) said “This film is for the masses, while we have a whole lot of urban slick heroes, there is always room for the desi hero. In a way this film is revisiting the roots, by making cinema that our industry is so known for.”
