Maasranga TV donates Tk3 cr to Journalists Welfare Trust

Responding to the call of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Private television channel Maasranga TV has donated Tk3 crore to the Bangladesh Journalists Welfare Trust. Anjan Chowdhury Pintu, managing director of the Maasranga TV, handed over a check for the amount to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her office on Tuesday, said PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim, reports BSS. On several occasions, the premier called upon the owners of media outlets and well-off people to come forward to donate in the trust set up for the welfare of journalists. The government provides financial assistance to the insolvent journalists across the country from the trust.
