The government has issued a gazette notification appointing administrators to five city corporations across the country.
The information was disclosed in a notification signed by Deputy Secretary Rabiul Islam on Saturday, issued by order of the President.
The newly appointed administrators are: Bilkis Akter Jahan Shirin for Barisal City Corporation, Mahfuzur Rahman for Rajshahi City Corporation, Rokonuzzaman Rokon for Mymensingh City Corporation, Mahfuz Un Nabi Chowdhury for Rangpur City Corporation, and Yusuf Molla Tipu for Comilla City Corporation.
According to the notification, they have been appointed as administrators of the respective city corporations under Subsection (1) of Section 25(a) of the Local Government (City Corporation) Amendment Ordinance–2024.
Earlier, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman held a meeting with the newly appointed administrators at the Prime Minister’s Office in Gulshan in the capital.
