Advance ticket sales for Eid-ul-Azha train travel officially began on Wednesday.
Like before, 100% of the advance tickets will be sold online.
The sale commenced at 8am with tickets for the western region.
Sales for the eastern region were set to begin at 2pm.
Tickets being sold are for May 31.
Tickets for other pre-Eid dates will be sold in succession.
Ticket sale schedule by date
The advance ticket sale schedule assumes June 7 as the day of Eid.
From Thursday to May 27, advance tickets will be sold for June 1 through June 6, respectively.
Meanwhile, return journey tickets for post-Eid travel will go on sale on May 30, starting with tickets for June 9.
Return tickets will continue to be available through June 15.
How to purchase tickets
Passengers must visit the Bangladesh Railway website (https://railapp.railway.gov.bd) or mobile app to buy tickets.
First, users must register.
After logging in with a password, they will be prompted to select their desired travel date, departure station, destination station, and travel class.
Then, by clicking "Find Ticket," they will be shown available trains, seat availability, and departure times.
By clicking "View Seats" for a specific train, passengers can choose from available seats and proceed to purchase.
Payment can be made via Visa, MasterCard, or bKash.
Upon successful payment, an e-ticket will be automatically downloaded and a copy sent to the passenger's email.
The printed version of the ticket must be collected from the respective departure station prior to travel.
