Senior journalist Nurul Kabir has said it is time the interim government clarified whether Shafiqul Alam is the chief adviser's press secretary or the government's spokesperson.
“This is high time the interim government of Bangladesh clearly explains to the people at large as to whether Mr Shafiqul Alam is ‘press secretary’ to the Chief Adviser Prof Yunus or the spokesperson of the government,” Nurul, editor of the English daily New Age, stated in a post from his verified Facebook profile early on Wednesday.
“If he is the spokesperson of the government, as he apparently poses to be, Prof Yunus and all his cabinet members must take the responsibility of Mr Shafiqul’s frequent aspersive comments on various individuals, political parties and streams.”
