Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Monday night arrested former member of parliament for Gopalganj-1 and minister of civil aviation and tourism, Lieutenant Colonel (Retd) Faruk Khan.
He was arrested from the Cantonment area of the capital. Later that night, he was handed over to the Detective Branch of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
The matter was confirmed by DB Additional Commissioner Rezaul Karim Mallik.
He said Faruk Khan was arrested from his residence in the Cantonment.
Faruk Khan is an accused in several cases related to casualties in the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
