Home Ministry: No institution can be besieged for protest

The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a warning against overly enthusiastic people who take the law into their own hands and engage in various activities under the guise of protest, such as besieged institutions, which create instability.

The ministry announced this information through a warning notice on Tuesday.

The notice says some overly enthusiastic and self-interested groups are attempting to create instability by taking the law into their own hands, forcibly resigning, vandalizing, arson, illegal searches, looting, extortion, tender manipulation, pressuring the police to accept indiscriminate cases, and attacking defendants in court.

In this context, the government wants to reassure everyone that not every case leads to arbitrary arrests. Proper verification and appropriate actions will be taken in these cases.

The government has clarified that appropriate legal measures will be taken against these activities that disrupt public safety. The government will identify all offenders—conduct operations against them soon, and take legal action irrespective of party affiliation.

If there are complaints against anyone, they must be reported to senior officers and departments; no institution encirclement or any form of violent behaviour is allowed. The government will follow existing laws in searches and case acceptance and will take measures to prevent any harassment.

The notice calls on everyone to cooperate with the government in maintaining law and order.
