Flood relief effort at TSC: Volunteers request cooking essentials

Volunteers at Dhaka University’s TSC, who have been helping flood-affected people across Bangladesh, have now requested donations of cooking essentials like rice, lentils, and oil instead of dry food.

With the receding floodwaters, the authorities are planning a mass cooking initiative.

On Friday, after the day's relief collection, those involved in the relief efforts made an appeal on social media for the new types of donations.

They announced that starting Saturday, all relief materials would be collected at the university's gymnasium.

Akhtar Hossain, former Social Services Secretary of DUCSU and a volunteer in the initiative, wrote on social media: "From Saturday, please do not bring any dry food for relief collection. Since the floodwaters have receded in the affected areas, the mass cooking program is now the primary focus. Therefore, everyone is encouraged to bring rice, lentils, oil, etc. All relief materials will be accepted at the gymnasium."
