Liaison Committee to help interim government

A six-member Liaison Committee formed by the leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement is set to work with the interim government in Bangladesh.

Nahid Islam, one of the movement coordinators, made the announcement at a press conference at Dhaka University on Thursday.

"On August 5, the proposal for a liaison committee was made to outline the structure of the post-coup government and determine its stake in the interim administration. Mahfuz Alam will serve as the committee's coordinator.

Speaking about the committee, its coordinator Mahfuz said: "The liaison committee will serve as a bridge, facilitating communication between the government and the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. We’ve been actively working for the past four days, and our efforts will continue moving forward."
