Voters of Barisal and Khulna city corporations gave their mandate for Awami League because of the Padma Bridge, said State Minister of Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury.
He made this remark at the inaugural function of “Madhumati River Cruise Service” at Sadarghat Launch Terminal of Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon.
Dhaka TribuneThe state minister added: “Doors of the people of the southern region have been opened due to the Padma Bridge. The reflection of Padma Bridge has fallen in Barisal and Khulna elections. People have proved it through their voting rights. In the upcoming 12th national parliament election also, people will vote for Awami League,”
Dhaka TribuneHe also said: “Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) under the Ministry of Shipping is going to procure three cruise vessels for the convenience of tourists by sea. They will operate in Maldives, Sri Lanka, Thailand and India. Among them, one cruise vessel will launch next October.”
Dhaka Tribune“Inland cruise vessels for tourists on the Dhaka-Barisal, Dhaka-Barguna and Dhaka-Patuakhali route will be launched through private operator also,” he added.
Ministry of Shipping Secretary Md Mostafa Kamal, BIWTC Chairman SM Ferdous Alam, among others, were present.
