Fareast International University Board of Trustees Chairman Sheikh Kabir Hossain and University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) Board of Trustees Vice President Dr Kazi Anis Ahmed have been elected chairman and secretary general, respectively, of the Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh.
The election of the executive council for the year 2023-2025 was held according to the association's memorandum on Tuesday.
Professor Abdul Mannan Choudhury of World University of Bangladesh and Professor Shafique Ahmed Siddique of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) were elected vice chairmen; Ishtiaque Abedin of American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) joint secretary general; and KBM Moinuddin Chishti of Victoria University of Bangladesh was elected treasurer unopposed.
Other elected members of the Executive Council are AKM Enamul Hoque Shameem, Port City International University; Nazrul Islam Babu, Sonargaon University; Kazi Rafiqul Alam, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology; Sadaf Saj Siddiqui, Brac University; Shafiqul Islam Mohiuddin, BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology; Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat, Canadian University Bangladesh; Md Sabur Khan, Daffodil International University; AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul, Exim Bank Agricultural University; Abdul Hai Sarker, Independent University Bangladesh; Riad Ahmed Tushar, Ishakha International University; Professor Abu Yousuf Md Abdullah, Northern University Bangladesh; Md Rezaul Karim, Southeast University; and Qayum Reza Chowdhury, University of Asia Pacific.
Headed by Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) former vice chancellor Professor Md Abu Saleh, a four-member election commission conducted the Executive Council Election 2023 of the Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh.
