The Fire Service and Civil Defence has said it considers most of the markets in Dhaka, including Gausia Market, to be risky.
Fire Service Newmarket Zone chief Bajlur Rashid made the remark while inspecting the fire safety system of Gausia Market on Thursday.
Earlier, a joint team of the fire service, NSI and DGFI came to inspect the market at around 11am.
Bajlur Rashid said: "We came to Gausia Market to conduct a regular operation. Checking this place's fire safety system is our top priority."
Gausia Market Shop Owners Association President Kamrul Hasan Babu and General Secretary Anwar Hossain were present there.
