Prothom Alo reporter Samsuzzaman Shams has been moved to Kashimpur Central Jail-1 in Gazipur, a day after being denied bail.
A prison van carrying him reached the place at around 1:30pm on Friday, Senior Jail Superintendent Shahjahan Ahmed told Dhaka Tribune on Friday.
He was presented before a Dhaka court on Thursday morning which ordered him to be sent to jail in a case filed under the Digital Security Act (DSA) with the Ramna police station.
The journalist was then taken to Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj.
Prothom Alo reporter Samsuzzaman Shams, working in Savar near the capital Dhaka, was picked up from his house in the Ambagan area near Jahangirnagar University in the early hours of Wednesday morning by the CID allegedly for publishing fake and fabricated news.
Later he was sued under DSA on the same day and a Dhaka court sent him to jail on Thursday rejecting his bail plea.
